Don’t Take Advice From Losers

If you want to progress and progress, you need to follow the lead of those who have succeeded in what you do. Here’s some life advice from Henry, the Number One Chinese Real Estate Agent for Remax in Australia.

“Hi, I’m Henry Wong. We’re here in beautiful Brisbane, right by the Brisbane River. We just want to talk about the topic: don’t take advice from losers.

What I’ve learnt that achieving, I guess, what I’ve achieved so far, being the number 12 agent in Remax or number 12 team in Remax in 2018, and the number one Chinese agent in Remax in Australia for 2018, is that if you want to get advice from people, always try to get advice from people that have been there and done that, or people that have actually coached others that have been there and done that.

Let me give you an example. Say, for example, you’re looking at getting fit. If you’re looking at getting fit, you’re looking for a personal trainer, would you actually get advice from a personal trainer who is morbidly obese, even though they’re highly qualified? But really, would you get advice from a personal trainer who is morbidly obese?

The same thing as would you get advice from an accountant about, I guess, your financials, your tax, if you know that your accountant is a chronic gambler? I don’t know. Yes, they’re qualified, but, really? So what I’m saying is get advice from people that have been there and done that.

Say, for example, you’re looking at growing your business. You’re looking at making more money, making more profit. Now, what I suggest is you look for a business coach and look for someone that they themselves succeed in their business.

Don’t look for someone that is renting a place, struggling to make ends meet and then tells you how to run a business, how to make more money, when they are struggling themselves. You want to look for someone that is very successful in the field that you are trying to achieve in.

The same thing as with sports. If you’re looking at playing tennis, you want to improve your tennis skills, obviously you look for a coach that has either been there and done that themselves or have coached other professional tennis players to start onto achieving better performance, so that’s what you should always look for.

Same thing as, I guess, apart from business, sports, I guess you could say with any other aspects of your life. For instance, look at social media. Let’s say you’re looking after increasing your presence on social media, you’re increasing the number of likes, the number of followers.

Now, what you want to look for is you don’t want to look for what I call posers. You want to look for people that actually has actual substance. So look for companies or consultants that they themselves have a lot of following, a lot of engagement, but also paying following.

What I mean by that is there’s no point going towards, say, a social media consultant that has 10,000 followers, 10,000 likes, when they’re broke. What does that mean? That means they’re not attracting the right kind of people, they don’t really know what they’re doing. Because you’re not after attention, you’re after something that helps your business to make more money.

So what I mean by that overall is when you’re getting advice from people, get advice from people that actually has substance that can actually back themselves.

In the world today, we see a lot of people that, I guess, they’re just what you see online is complete different than what you see in reality. You want to see what people you see online compared to what you see in reality is the exact same person.

So, there you have it. Don’t get advice from losers.”
